Wes and Miriam's Wedding Sneak Peek

This weekend my girlfriend Ryan and I went to Burns, Kansas to photograph Aaron's cousin Wes's wedding.  What a fun time we had, we didn't have any kids with us, so that in and of itself is a treat.  We decided that the most important thing to do before we photographed that day was pray.  We prayed for wisdom, guidance, and direction on being able to capture the true beauty and feel of the special day.  And thanks be to God, we feel He guided us on the right path.  We hope Wes and Miriam agree.  Here is a sneak peek of their special day.
Are they beautiful or what?  Thanks guys for letting us indulge our hobby.

Bleach Shirts

We have the pleasure of having our 2 nephews Alex and Ryan for the week, and also our niece Leah for the next couple of days.  We are trying to fill our days with fun stuff that doesn't include tv or video games.  I remembered reading this post from Ashley Ann, and so I had to copy it.  She tells you how to do the bleach shirts step by step (and her pictures are to die for).  My pictures don't even compare to hers, but here was the fun we had today making bleach shirts.  Remember this does require close adult supervision, and is not for kids that don't follow directions well.

We bought some cheap squirt guns and filled them with bleach
And then picked up felt stickers from Michael's to adhere them to the shirts
And boy oh boy did they have fun.  Just look for yourselves
As of now they are everyone's favorite shirts, below is the final product.
Pretty cool if I say so myself.  Thanks Ashley Ann for all your diy projects, I love them!

Fun at the Lake

This weekend we went to Lake of the Ozarks with my family.  We had such a wonderful time, that we have decided to make it an annual trip.  Thank you to my brother Matt for arranging everything, and thank you to Pammaw (Aaron's mom), and Laura (Aaron's sister) for watching little Amelia for us while we were gone.  The two most favorite things we did (per the kids) were:  Going to Big Surf, and going to the show (Main Street Opry-thanks mom and dad for the tickets, it was a blast).  Here are some of my favorite pics from the weekend.  Bear with me there are a lot.

Fourth of July (part 2)

Yesterday (the 4th), we had some of our friends over.  It was a fun-filled day/evening filled with swimming, eating, playing, and fireworks.  Matt and Jill had to leave early so I didn't get any good pics of them, and missed getting pics of the actual fireworks.  But, I did get these:

fun in the pool
The girls playing dress-up
I don't know why I like this picture so much, but I do.  It's sweet, a father and daughter.

Hillbilly golf fun (check out Josh's tongue!)
It was Tyler's 2nd birthday-Happy birthday buddy!  (sorry these pics aren't more clear)
Aaron had to mow a spot in the backyard so everyone could play croquet, and of course Deacon wanted to work by raking the grass.
Here the guys are trying to strategize their croquet game
A pic of the girls-we all had pool hair, but I still like it.  Maybe it's because there is never any pictures of us moms!
And here are the lovey dovies-aww!
Hope everyone had a wonderful 4th!  We sure did.

Fourth of July (part 1)

We had a wonderful 4th of July weekend.  Busy, but very good.  On Saturday we had Laura (Aaron's sister) up with her family, and Pam (Aaron's mom).  We started off the day going to the O'Fallon parade.  Seeing the sea of red, white, and blue in the crowd gave me goosebumps, I was indeed proud to be an American!  The kids had a great time getting candy, waving to all the people in the parade, and hopefully getting a sense for the real reason behind the 4th of July.  The rest of the day was spent eating, swimming, and playing, equaling a great day in America!  Thank you to all that risk your lives so we can live in the land of free.
I love this next picture.  It makes my heart swell!
What a sweet ending to the parade!
