Reindeer treats!

Yesterday was the beginning of a new Christmas tradition in the Junk house.  We made reindeer treats. Look below and you can see the fun we had, especially the kids.  They can't wait to sprinkle it in the yard tonight for the reindeer to eat while they wait on Santa delivering their gifts.

Play-Doh

If you are like me, you cringe when you see these containers of play-doh. It makes such a mess, and Deacon uses all the tools as weapons instead of what they were actually made for. After much begging from the kids I gave in and let them play with this messy "toy". And of course they had a blast, just see for yourself.

Insanity

60 Day Workout
Well, this week marks the 6th week little Amelia has been in this world. Not only that, but it also marks the week that I get to start exercising again. Yay!! I am ready for the fat to get off this body of mine. I am bigger now than I was at 6 weeks post partum with my other two. That is a little discouraging to me, but I am very determined to get this baby weight off. I have been thinking of the perfect way to jump start my exercise regime for the last 6 weeks, and I had come to the conclusion that instead of running off the weight (like I did with my other 2) I was going to do some sort of all over body workout. You see running is great for burning calories, but it doesn't strengthen your entire body. A couple of weeks ago I saw an infomercial for this program called insanity. It looked like just the thing for me. It is hard core cardio interval training, 40 minutes long, and you use your own body weight for resistance (that way I wouldn't have to go out and buy weights or bands).....so the next day I ordered it.

Today marks day 3 of the insanity program, and I can barely walk. It hurts to raise my arms, and it hurts to roll over in bed, and I love it! I love the feeling of using my body to it's full capacity (which isn't much right now), I love the feeling of doing something to help get my rear in gear and in shape. I have to take breaks, and modify some of the exercises, but I am determined. My goal is to keep up with him and not have to modify the exercises by the end of the 60 days. My sister in law Jill is doing it also, and I would like to challenge any of you to try insanity if you are wanting to get in shape, and lose fat. I don't think you'll be disappointed!!

Horse Riding Lessons

This last weekend we let the kids take their first horse riding lessons. They had a great time, and we had a great time watching them learn how to guide/ride a horse.

*Sorry for the dark and grainy pictures, I had the camera in manual mode with the lens hood on, uh-oh!* Oh well, you can get the idea of what I was trying to capture.

A happy, hoppy, lollipop day

Yes folks, you heard it right yesterday was a:

HAPPY,

HOPPY,

LOLLIPOP

kind of a day.

It is amazing how #1 getting a good night sleep, and #2 getting out of the house, and into society makes for such a great day. And on top of that, the kids had a wonderful time playing outside after school. What a fun day we all had.

More HAPPINESS: What kid or parent doesn't just love sidewalk chalk?

And finally these eyes! I love these eyes, yes, they make me happy too!

Sleep deprivation + Hormones= 1 GRUMPY Momma

Wow! I have been one grumpy lady the last few days. Why? You might ask, well I have figured it out. Yes folks I have been severely sleep deprived, and last night when I looked in the mirror I discovered something I have never before seen on my face. A zit on my cheek!!! Yes, I have had zits before, but never on the side of my face. Which has brought me to the realization that on top of being a walking zombie, my hormones are going crazy.

My poor husband has been the brunt of all this grumpiness. I mean really is it his fault that he buries his head under the pillows so he doesn't hear Amelia when she wakes up in the middle of the night to eat? I can't expect him to grow a breast and start feeding her can I? Although that would be nice. Is it his fault that I am in jeans 3 sizes bigger than my normal size, and that I have skin and fat hanging over in every direction? I know it takes time to get my body back in shape, and I also know that I have to work at it. It does upset me to know the hard journey I am facing and so yes, I took that out on him also. After getting a decent night sleep last night (thanks to little Amelia) I was able to think more clearly and have realized that I had been acting like the next Kate Gosselin. I definitely do not want to turn into that kind of wife, so I am so very sorry for acting like I have Aaron, please forgive me.

I need to keep in mind these beautiful reasons below as to why I am so very blessed, and not focus on the yukky little things that are only a small season of my life. As my GrandMary has always told me "nothing lasts forever".
